YOUR HOSTS

Janet and Gordon have owned property on Waiheke for over 35 years and live in a house on the property, about 40 metres from Booklovers Cottage.

Janet, a retired Interior Designer, has always been an avid gardener and reader.  She is also passionate about art, with a qualification in Art History, and is a volunteer at, and an honorary life member of, the Waiheke Community Art Gallery.   Gordon is a retired consulting Civil Engineer and carries out the property maintenance, mowing and heavy lifting.  He is a past chairman of Trustees of the Waiheke Literary Festival (Words on a Small Island) and was active on the establishment committee of the Friends of Alison Park whose aim is to revitalise the Alison Park Reserve at the gateway to Oneroa.  Gordon is also a member of the Rotary Club of Waiheke Island and is involved in its many projects on the island. We are always enthusiastic volunteers on the biennial Sculpture on the Gulf exhibition, and for other island events.

We have various grandchildren, all of whom live in Auckland, but this does not prevent us taking overseas holidays (when conditions allow), sometimes with our children and grandchildren.

We are happy to work in with your holiday wishes, be they to have a quiet undisturbed time, or to have an event-filled break on Waiheke.  If you need advice, we can point you in the direction of restaurants, wineries and other activities that you may wish to experience.  If you require any facilities that are not listed we will be happy to discuss these with you.
